Ahh, that polluted city air. So enclosing, so constricting, yet so welcoming to someone who was newly released from contaiment. That damned cell was starting to have him thinking that there was nothing of the world beyond its moldy stone walls. His wrists were still cut in place were his handcuffs had been secured and rubbed constantly against his flesh.
This was the first time that Xyo could remember being out on the streets in the crack of dawn. The city seemed fresh with its new supply pf cars on the road and the wet morning air was almost revitalizing. At least it would have been had it not bee for the greasy smell of frying hotdogs.
The hotdogs reminded him of food, naturally and Xyoukai was suddenly overtaken with the need for 'real' food. e'd been fed nothing but gruel for the past four weeks and something with flavor sounded extremely welcoming. Thus, on he went - looking through the windows of the many small restuarants and bakeries. Unfortunately though, he could find nothing that would satisfy his desire.

In a small cafe nearby Xyo, Oscu was sipping silently on a cup of steaming liquid. Not coffee, however. He prefered green tea--To him, it tasted better, and it was supposed to be better for you, or something of the sort. It was also untouched by glucose, or sugars of any kind. He found it had more bite and ability to make him feel slightly more alive. However, anything multiplied by zero would always equal zero, however much sense that made. To Oscu, life was ended. He didn't have a job that required any skill, and now he didn't have Shain. The latter was what bothered him most. He missed her so much, all the time, and had nothing to take his mind away from it.
Glancing out the window of the cafe, he wondered if there was anyone else out at this hour, and if so, why would they be out?

He'd finally become frustrated in his search for what was comparable to the fountain of youth. Whatever he craved this time, he deemed non-existant. Something sweet, but not too sweet and something flavorful, but not to the point of killing one's tastebuds. Enntering the nearest cafe, Xyoukai was slightly surprised to find that someone was already enjoying their beverage within its confines. He dipped his head in respect and in slight apology of his short stare.
Stepping up to the counter, he ordered a small piece of coffee cake and a glass of milk. The milk was the only thing he was looking forward to. The cake? Well, that was just to give hims some energy and was the only thing he found tolerable at the moment as far as solid food went.
Having paid, and meal in hand, Xyo turned and searched for a place to sit. Everything seemed so lonely and sitting alone wasn't to his liking at this particular moment. Having spent the past month in solitude, Xyoukai felt the need for company. The dark stranger with the tes being the only other around, he'd have to be the poor soul to deal with Xyo's antics.
Stepping toward the table, the feline offered a grin to Oscu and motioned to the empty seat across from him, "Would you mind if I sat with you?"

His brows arched in surprise as another entered the scene. His first thoughts were towards why he was here--He hadn't been out late drinking (Oscu had been bartending long enough to know when someone had been piling them on, even if they did have a strong resistance to alcohol.), and people rarely crashed at coffee houses after long nights. Musing to himself as he expected the male to leave after picking up his order, Oscu appeared even more surprised when the other addressed him. He had been facing downwards before, appearing to be studying his cup, his eyes sneakily shifting forward to observe the other as he entered, his just-too-long, unkempt hair blocking his eyes.
Now, however, as his entire face turned upwards, one could see his features in full. His eyes had no pupils--they were simply radiating pools of violet, standing out on his face like a sore thumb. As afore stated, his hair was overgrown, and blocked his vision. A distinct part was hard to discover upon the messy mass, though long ago, when it had been more well kept, it had been parted over his left eye.
Shrugging slightly to the other as he asked him if he could sit with him, he nodded to the chair across from him. "I'm not stopping you." He said, a man of few words. He made an awfully shitty conversationalist especially now that he was lonely as hell. However, he couldn't say the other was exactly a normal, predictable moron like most he ran into on the street, either, simply because he had made his way here at this time in the morning.

Taking a seat, Xyoukai was rather put off by this stranger's answer. Despite that, Xyoukai felt it oddly good to hear someone's voice directed to him. He took a spoonful of the coffee cake and took his time to chew and taste it, making the most out of the bite. Then, a long swig from his glass of milk. As he expected, the milk was the best part.
Glancing out the window, he watched the lazy drift of the cars on the road. He really needed to get out in the mornings more often - the atmosphere was rather hypnotic. There was always that special feel to mornings.

He watched the other with some curiousity as he began to eat. Interesting, that, although he was up at this hour, he had not ordered something caffinated. Simply another one of those strange things that Oscu saw that others usually did not. "Any reason in particular you're out so early?" He asked, unable to contain his curiosity any longer. He was strange in that way--He never wondered if someone was doing something. He always questioned WHY, and was rarely offended by the answer (and when he was, it usually had to do with them saying something suggestive about Shain or Kai. Who wouldn't deck someone for implying they were doing something with their girlfriend or sister?).

Xyoukai brought his attention to Oscu, a mild 'huh?' expression on his face at first though it quickly faded as his mind registered what was asked. "Just enjoying the air. Don't much feel like going home right now." Adding a light shrug, the feline took another drink of his milk and apparently forgot about his coffee cake. He didn't even look at it now.
Looking into his cup, he swirled the milk within it and fancied the small whirlpool that had formed. "And what about yourself?" he asked, glancing up from his cup though still swirling the liquid.

He nodded slightly at this, not bothering to ask where other than home he had been before this. It was obviously something the other did not care to say at the moment, and Oscu assumed it was probably none of his business anyway. Glancing between the feline and his teacup, Oscu shrugged at his question. "I was on my way back from work," he replied, sipping his tea, enjoying the warmth of the liquid now that it was cool enough to not burn his tongue.

"Work, hmm?" Xyoukai looked back down to his cup, then slowly found the city streets once again. He was thinking about his own job and wondering when, exactly, he should pick up a new assaignment. He'd have to start off easy again, just to regain his former skill.
"What d'ya do for a living?" he asked, not bothering to look back to this, acquain- no, he was still a stranger. Hell, they didn't even know each other's names. He'd have to patch up that problem later.

He nodded at this question, taking another sip of tea as the other asked about his job. "Bartender... I serve drinks and break up fights, more or less." He said with a shrug. It wasn't something he was really proud of, but it was a steady job, and it paid well enough for him to get by.
"I'd much rather do something more... exciting, but I'm not charismatic enough for most 'exciting' jobs," he commented. "What about you...?" He asked, voice trailing off as he realized he didn't know his name. "Er, what is your name?"

"I was just about to ask you yours.." Xyo's ear flicked as he turned to face Oscu once again."Xyoukai."
He puased for a time before and looked back down to his milk while he thought over standard procedure when asked this common question. "I work for the government." He sloshed his milk again and took a long drink, nearly finishing it off.

"Hm... Great minds think alike, you know." He mused with a smirk. "Oscurite." He said thoughtfully before adding quickly at the end. "Call me Oscu, though."
"The government?" He said, raising a skeptical, and yet interested brow. "Sounds shady." He said, half-jokingly, half-serious. Taking a swig of tea, leaving only a centimeter left in the bottom, he looked to the other, waiting for his reply.

"Oscu, It's a pleasure."
He luaghed lowly as his new acquaintance made a statement. "Funny that you should say that. What I do /is/ rather shady." Looking out the window once again, he chuckled, unable to hold it back as a thought came to mind. "If I told you the specifics, I'd have to kill you." He was finding this situation rather hilarious. What he spoke was actually quite true. And even though he was, technically, pushing the standards of what he was supposed to keep secret. And by all means, he souldn't have even lead this stranger on this far. But as far as Xyoukai was concerned, just getting out of confinment and all, there wasn't much point in being a good-boy for the time being.

"Likewise." He replied. And for once, he was slighlty sincere--For some reason, he felt a slight sort of connection with the person he was talking to, instead of the disdain he usually felt for the banality of most conversations he participated in lately.
He arched his brows in interest as he heard this, giving Xyoukai a glance as he said this, trying to figure what kind of 'shady' business he could be involved in. He didn't seem like one who was eager to deliver encrypted messages, or sit around an office all day doing something... well, what was to Oscu, boring. From his build, he seemed more like the type who would be out doing physical sorts of 'shady' business. "Hm. Well, then... How exactly does one get involved in this sort of business, or is it something that requires a certain bloodline?"
