"My room number is 283. It's on this floor just a few doors down."
He was beginning to feel much better now. The dizzy feeling was nearly completely gone and his shoulder was getting less and less noticeable.
"If you'd be more comfortable just openeing the door and setting me infront of it, I can manage the rest. I wouldn't blame you if you'd rather not come in."

She nodded slightly as she headed to the room he specified, opening the door for him and setting him down gently as he requested. "Well, if you'd rather I leave, I suppose I will, but it's not as if I'm obligated to be anywhere at the moment..."
She said, rather hoping she might be able to enjoy his company for a bit longer--It had been so long since she had been able to talk to another and it was nice that have something like a 'friend.'

"By all means, Kai - Please come in. I'd adore your company,"He flashed a smile to her over his shoulder before stepping gently into his quarters, obviously favoring the wounded shoulder, but not by much.
"I just don't want you to feel awkward. Make yourself at home, help yourself to the kitchen - or anywhere for that matter."
He continued on into the hallway then into what one could only assume was his room. Cracking and snapping of bones was muffled from behind the closed door. The stretching of muscles and fibers - Fate was shifting and the sound of opening drawers followed not so long after.
A few more minutes and Fate opened his door and came into the hall. A white button-up shirt and khaki pants had been thrown on. The shirt was only pushed together as if he'd attempted to button it but had given up on the second try. His pants hing loosely at his hips, almost too big for his waist, the fabris nearly threatened to fall.
Luckily Fate was fixing this with the use of a black belt he was buckling on his way back into the den area where the two had entered.
"I'd offer to make you something, I'm afraid I'm a terrible chef though..."

She smiled at this, following him inside and closing the door gently behind her, looking at the apartment for a few moments, simply absorbing her surroundings and familiarizing herself with them. Waiting for his return, she choose to ignore the strange sounds coming from the other room, having the vague idea that he was changing his form. Seating herself on the couch, she waited for Fate's return.
As he reentered the room, she turned to see him, not quite sure what to expect. However, as soon as she saw his casual, loose attire, she felt at ease. Observing his shirt, she allowed a smile. "I see your buttons got the better of you, hm?" She teased.
After he mentioned making her something, she shrugged. "I could try my luck with your kitchen if you'd like... Are you hungry?" She asked. She'd imagine he might be, as all the changing forms must've taken some effort, and he had also spilled most everything he had consumed before onto the sidewalk after being shot.

He smiled as she mentioned the buttons, "It's a little difficult with one arm that keeps shaking." He tossed his head to one side to flip his bangs out of his view. Finally finishing with the belt, he was happy to see she was comfortable enough to sit down. Often times the guests would just stand near the door, too unsure to move elsewhere. Hell, he was guilty of it himself.
"Actually, I could go for a meal - if it's no bother, of course." For some reason he felt that he kept taking advantage of her, even so, he tried his best to give her the option to opt out of it. He felt the need to keep her happy. Maybe it was his way of apologising for using up her energy and thanking her for all she'd done. He wanted her to be happy - she'd been so kind to him and he hardly deserved any of it.
"Maybe i'll learn something in the way of food."

She shrugged. "It's ok, you look nice that way anyway." She commented before standing up. "Show me to the kitchen, then, and lets hope we can find what we're looking for." She said with a smile. "It'll be nice to cook for someone else for a change... Living alone gets so dull sometimes." She said with a slight frown and a shrug. "But life goes on." She commented, brushing off the rather melancholy afterthought.
"Mmhm. And I'll do my best to teach you." She said, arriving at his side and smiling.

He grinned almost sheepishly to her compliment then turned and led took a few steps in to the side and turned to an opening. The kitchen was a small space, only coming out to be a 12x10 room and even smaller with the space the counters and fridge took up. Only a stove-top oven and a sink along with a small amount of counter space was available.
"I know the feeling all too well," he answered to her comment about living alone. "I hope you can manage with this." He glanced to her, then back to the small area that was the kitchen.

She followed after him, peering into the small space and nodded. Kneeling down, she began opening the cupboards under the sink, picking out two pots from the fairly limited array of cooking supplies he owned. She also chose out a large wooden spoon and a pair of forks. Searching through the drawers with his food in it, she managed to locate a package of linguine, a can of spaghetti sauce, and a can of mushrooms before retrieving a pound of hamburger from the fridge.
"Hey, if you're supposed to be such a bad cook, how do you manage on your own?" She asked, raising a brow.

Watching her rummage through his kitchen, he wondered how when exactly he bought all the different things she was finding. He was wondering if that can of mushrooms was even good yet. Good thing canned goods could last for years.
He chuckled after he heard her question, "Maybe you noticed the boxes of t.v. dinners in the freezer, and the instant noodle lunches in the cupboard."

She also wondered how she had managed to find all of these things. Perhaps, by some miracle, someone had gone grocery shopping for Fate at one point. As she filled one of the pots with water, she asked "Could you check the expiration dates on those things?" She said, referring to the food items, hoping they were still good. They didn't look TOO old, at least to her. Setting the water-filled pot on the stove, she put the other pot on another burner and turned that one on aswell.
She laughed at his comment. "It's a wonder you don't get sick of those things after awhile." She teased.

"The way I figure it," fate started as he picked up one of the cans and searched for the date, " That's what restuarants are for. For those nights when the Ramen logo makes me sick."
The mushrooms still had six monhs left to their life, and the spaghetti sauce was relatively new, odd. The hamburger - well, he knew that wasn't bad quite yet. He remembered getting that in hopes of experimenting with the stove.

She couldn't help but laugh at this comment. "Yeah, I suppose it doesn't hurt to go out every once and awhile." She offered a shrug. Usually she didn't have the money available to go on such ventures, but every once in a while she liked to. And besides that, going out alone made you feel even lonelier, she had found.
Taking the hamburger and opening it, she dumped it into the non-water filled pot and began seperating it into smaller pieces with the spoon. "Ground hamburger's pretty useful." She said, as a sidethought, stirring it around with the spoon so it didn't get burned.

Fate leaned against the counter, watching what she did with a distant curiousity. He said nothing for quite some time. Preferring to just watch the movements of that wooden spoon.
"Kai?" he broke the silence himself, hardly realising just what he was doing, "Thanks for your help, it means a lot to me."
He blinked slowly, his mind registering what he just blurted out of no where. Tearing his gaze from the pots, he put hie weight on his feet again and took a few steps to the other side of the kitchen. He'd embarassed himself, and because he was, he felt even more embarassed - and that just kept the chain from stoping. Sighing in an attempt to calm his own mental beating, his hands reached to his shirt buttons again, preoccupying himself with trying to get the plastic disc through the hole in the fabric.

As the pinkish color began to disappear from the meat, the juice began to evaporate, creating a tantalizing aroma for anyone nearby, particularly those that were hungry.
When he said her name, she turned her head towards him and her ears perked up. "Hm?" She replied, before hearing his comment. Looking rather surprised at his comment, she searched for a correct response. "It's nice to know I can make myself useful every once in awhile." She replied, speaking softly before looking up at him fumbling with his buttons.
She hated to see him feeling so awkward and embarassed, especially because he had just been very nice. Leaving the stove for a moment, she raised her hands to meet his, drawing them away from the seemingly tedious buttons before raising the heels of her feet slightly (to compensate for the height difference) and kissing him on the cheek. "You shouldn't be so worried about being so nice." She said with a small smile, her bangs falling into her eyes, refusing to stay behind her ear.

If it were possible for him to melt to her gentle kiss and kind words, he would have done so within the instant. He found it awkward, that they had only just met about an hour ago and he was already so sensitive to her. There was something ...something special about her that Fate drawn to. It was difficult to describe, and Fate hardly knew if it was really there. He'd met his fair share of ladies yet none were like Kai. None had the same effect on him. He felt humble in her presence.
Smiling as she finished her line, he closed his eyes and let a soft sigh slip from between his lips. He wasn't exactly sure how to reply to that, or if he even should. He opened his eyes once again soon enough to witness the bangs falling into her face. Gingerly squeezing her hands before pulling one away, he brushed the strands back behind her ear. He took another moment to just look at her face, her eyes, and really see all her unique characteristics.
His smile grew a bit wider, though still soft, as he pulled her in for a hug, a hushed purr starting in his throat as his arms wrapped around her.
