He smiled, stepping forward just a bit more and taking the flower gratefully. "Really, it was no problem, I don't mind giving a little advice now and then, sort of makes me feel like I actually did something helpful for once." He grinned, looking down at the strange, beautiful flower. "And it was interesting, definately, no trouble at all. I'm Refaine, by the way." He introduced himself after a bit, smiling lightly to her.

By looking at her now, Alice seemed rather happy. But, despite this fact, she was still uneasy. She was glad she met someone that showed some sort of kindness, but what if it was an illusion? This was her inner problem. After all it was her family that first began to assume she was crazy and send her off to get 'help'.
"I'm...glad...but..." Her words were drawn out in a mumbled, unsure. She then shook her head. Right now wasn't really the time to bother him by going any father into it. Besides, she'd have to wait before letting him know any details. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Refaine. I'm Alice." Her voice had formed into a more happy, pleasurable tone.

Refaine listened curiously, wandering what she was thinking right now, and keeping a secret. "The pleasure is mine, Alice." He said politely with a smile as curiousity grew. He smiled lightly, debating with himself whether to pester her about what she had said. Though he knew many people didn't appreciate being bugged into telling their thoughts, and disliked doing this, he couldn't help but ask a polite "But what?"

Alice's eyes dropped a bit when he asked what she was trying to say before. "Umm..." She half turned away, still debating on telling him any thing or not. "Well you see, its just hard for me to trust people at all. When I was younger, and still in my recent age, many people hurt me...That is to say that I'm very different then everyone else. To put it simply, I'm pretty much a freak. There are things about me, and my life, that are so strange that when I told people about them they thought I had gone insane." She was quiet for a few moments before speaking again, "That's when everything fell apart...."

"Sorry to hear." He replied, debating with himself what he could say. People certainly were cruel sometimes. "Don't say you're a freak, it's not true. Every single person in the world is totally different, ya know. Everyone thinks they're insane one time or another. I definately have my insane moments, but people shouldn't say that the fact that others are different is bad." He said, maybe he wasn't saying this right, he had a lot of thoughts on this topic, personally. "Sorry to hear about your life having so many problems, though." He added after a moment.

She fell into silence. It seemed he was trying really hard to say the right things, but she was still afraid, in a way. "Everyone's different, I know...but still." She turned to face him. "You don't seem very insane to me." She took on a bit of a playful smile when she said this.
Apparently Alice had a lot of mixed emotions right now. "I appreciate you're words. But you don't have to feel sorry for me. Its really nice having someone to talk to, but doesn't it bother you? I mean we only just met and we're talking about things like this..."

"Hey, well you don't seem like a freak to me." He smirked as he said this. "Oh, and I don't feel inclined to pity you or anything, we are two equal people, having a conversation." He said with a smile. "Ya know, maybe this is the kind of thing that makes me seem insane, but I found that talking to strangers about deep stuff like this is pretty easy, maybe even more so than talking to good friends about it, at least certain friends." He grinned, maybe it was the fact that people who you're close to, you really trust, and it would hurt all the more if they told this stuff to others and broke your trust. Or maybe he just instantly trusts someone, unless he is given reason to not trust them. Sure, this could be a weakness, but he liked having that trustworthy feeling.

Alice's head tilted to one side. "Really? That's an interesting thought." She smiled. "You know, I've never been one to talk with strangers, but Refaine you seem ok." Then her right arm crossed over to allow her hand to rest on her left side. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to show you something that makes me so different, that makes people think something's wrong with me." She then removed her hand, but it stayed in the air only a few inches from her side. In this little space something seemed to appear in a haze illusion, but when she grasped this object in her hand it proved this was no trick. She held up the object, which turned out to be a white, old cast-iron style key.

"Thanks." He responded with a grin. It felt cool, being trusted by a random strangers secret. So the world wasn't totally harsh and bent on distrust. Refaine looked on as she seemed to summon a peculiar key, that was definately unique. "Wow, that's cool." He grinned, looking down to the key. He probably didn't grasp the full extent of this key, but the whole getting it process was definately interesting.

Once he was able to see the key Alice pulled it close to her. It was obviously something very precious to her. "This key, its a part of me. If you want to know the detail, I'm about to tell you. I have the mark of this key on my left side, and when I wish it the mark forms into a real key and the mark disappears." she closed her eyes for an instant, as if taking a moment to treasure this odd belonging, but she opened them again to speak. "This key is very strange. Beside the fact it can become part of me, I can use the key to 'open people's hearts'. While using this I can..." there she went, hesitating for a slight second. "bring things to life and have the possibility to see into the hearts of others..."

"Wow, that's pretty deep, in a way. You have the key to peoples hearts and all." He smiled, looking at the intriguing key. "Definately unique, I wouldn't say a freak though. Having special talents would hardly be considered freakish." He smiled, wondering if she used the key often, or for what.

"I suppose so. I've hardly ever used to actually search people's hearts, though. You may never know what you'll find in someone's heart. If you find out the wrong thing it might be very painful and difficult to accept."
Before saying anything else she released one hand from the key, leaving it only in her right hand. Then, just as before, she placed her hand on her opposite side. Only now, when she removed her hand, the key has gone. "Well, you have to admit it is one very odd talent." she paused. "But the part where many people found me to be insane is different. That key was actually formed when I really went insane...When I was shocked...."

"Makes sense, everyone has secrets, we're only human." He shrugged, watching as the key left as easily as it had come. "It is odd, never met anyone else who could do that. But then again, I wouldn't exactly be happy if everyone could read my heart, I would only trust that with people who wouldn't instantly judge me. That power is in good hands." He smiled, not really shocked by hearing she had 'gone insane'. His cousin had spent a couple years in an asylum as well, and he really wasn't too psychotic frankly, though he was convinced he was after a bit of time there.

As she listened to the male speak, Alice's hands entwined together like they would if a person was sitting down and politely folding there hands on there lap's. "....So I guess that means you atleast trust me enough to not be afraid of this power?" She nodded, and the expression on her face lightened. "If you'd like, I think its alright for me to tell you about my 'insanity'. But first I have one question to ask you. Have you ever heard of the story of 'Alice in Wonderland'?"

"Yup, and enough to be ok with you seeing my heart, I suppose. That sort of thing would require a bit of trust, I guess." He smiled. "Well, if you're comfortable with talking about it, I'm listening." He grinned, rather curious about this, though he wouldn't have pestered her about it, if she hadn't offered to tell.
